My Story:

As a teenager and young adult, I fell victim to many scams when buying used games, handhelds and consoles.

I had a modified PSP that my cousin was super jealous of. When trying to get a used one on Craigslist to modify for him, the owner had basically thrown together a barely functioning PSP with all the worst parts he had. The wifi antenna, sd card reader didn't work and at the time, that revision of motherboard was not modifiable. He did a good job of making it look properly functional and used a burner phone to make the trade.

Multiple times I've bought "tested" disc games on eBaY or in person at flea markets / garage sales which seemingly worked fine, but when I got to a certain level, the disc wouldn't work past that point. By then, it was too late to return the game.

Even more recently, I decided to go to a retro store in order to pay a bit more of a premium price in order to get something that was ensured to work. I got Super Mario Kart for the SNES, but that same week I ran into AC and plumbing issues with my home. It took some time to address those issues and when I finally found some free time, I went to play the game only to find it didn't load at all. Several, SEVERAL attempts with no success tells me it definitely never worked in the hands of the retro store. Most retro stores do a poor test of "stick it in the console to see if it boots", but this store seemingly doesn't test them at all and I was definitely past the return date.

As a teenager I used to modify and repair consoles all the time, especially in the PS3/360 era. I fixed many RROD on those phat 360 consoles. I had dreams of opening up my own repair shop, but I just didn't have the funds to do so. Any time I made money on a repair, the profits would go to living costs. I had a blast doing the repairs, but I did not have the funds to scale it up. Instead of fighting to make the dream happen, I gave in and went to college to start a career in IT.

Towards the end of 2024, I found myself spending a good amount of money on a refurbished Gameboy Advance SP and a ton of games for it. It was a Christmas gift for someone near and dear to me, but I found myself jealous of this eBaY seller. He was living out the profession I always wanted. That's when I realized something. After letting my soul get crushed in a long successful IT career, I found myself with some extra income and some spare time. Would my stuff really sell? There I was as the customer, purchasing the very type of things I've always wanted to sell.

Fast forward to today, less than a year later after buying that Gameboy and here I am! This is my new online shop! As a one man shop, I'll ensure that all games and consoles are *properly* tested, cleaned and refurbished. I don't have corporate or management to answer to and I still have my IT career to pay the bills, so I don't have any reason to cut corners. Especially since I'm the one that has to answer to all the complaints!

For the disc games, the discs are cleaned and scanned to verify the whole disc can be read. For cartridges, they are opened to inspect the pins, chips and batteries. For consoles, all features (disc drive, wifi, bluetooth, etc) are tested to work. All capacitors and ports are tested as well.

If you are on the fence about any of the listings, send me a message! I can provide more pictures or possibly even stream it being playing live!
